BARC - Files AreaHere is the BARC files area. This page will be used to post miscellaneous files pertaining to BARC. You will find a lot of helpful information here. Please note that any confidential information, operating procedures, q-signals, etc will not be posted here, as doing so would make that information public. Please let me know if you have any questions. 2009 Race Files:As you may have heard, Beargrease will not be providing packets to BARC operators this year. Here are the pages that would usually be included. Please feel free to view and print them as you desire. 2009 Race course estimated times and trail mileage. 2009 Mid-Distance Trail Narrative Other Files:Overview race course map - Jeff sent me this neat map and requested I post it. Very nice overview map of the 2008 race course. Repeater Cards - This is the card that I was passing out last year before the race that details the repeater frequencies and settings used throughout the BARC race. This is in the correct format and size to download, print, and cut around the outside line for a 3x5 "pocket size" card. BARC Code of Ethics - This is the BARC code of ethics page from the new member packets. The code of ethics was developed in 2002. North Shore Accommodations - This is a list of Businesses that support Beargrease and should receive special consideration in your travels. You should also note that some of these businesses (especially hotels) will give you a discount if you mention you're a Beargrease volunteer. Wind Chill Table - Very handy guide for estimating you exposure time outside in northern Minnesota based upon temperature and wind speed. Mushing Terms - Get familiar with Musher lingo before the race. The Legend of John Beargrease - This page is the story of John Beargrease, very interesting! Enjoy!
